I often think about the point you raise a...Hi Jerry<br />I often think about the point you raise and discuss so eloquently. Each time I go back to England, having been fed an almost exclusive diet of news in the papers and on the radio, I am quite shocked to see that there is NOT actually any rioting in the streets! On the contrary, I am struck by the innate decency and good humour of the English people, pretty much intact as far as I can see after all these years - and despite my absence! The thing is, unless you can counterbalance what you read in the papers, etc. with everyday reality and the evidence of your own eyes, you are always going to end up with a distorted picture of a society.
