The preview of the Frans Hals exhibition at The National Gallery yesterday, which my youngest sister, who is member of the gallery, genorously treated me to with a delicious lunch afterwards, was or should I say 'were', very much enjoyed.
We spent an hour gazing at the magnificent works of art gathered from art galleries and museums around the world.
Probably, art aficioados would have spent far longer gazing at the wonderful paintings than we did, but one hour was ideal for us. Interestingly despite the preview yesterday being for members only, the exhibition was crowded. That is not surprising given the quality of the work of Frans Hals, to which the photos above, taken with my old iPhone 6 phone do not do justice.
Afterwards we had a delicious lunch at nearby Tom Kerridge's bar and grill, within the nearby Corinthia Hotel.
Interestingly Tom Kerridge's other principal establishment is his three Michelin star pub in Marlow. to which maytrees max, ma, mi and min treated mrs maytrees and I for a 70th birthday present for mrs maytrees a few weeks ago; see The Hand and Flowers Marlow
