Wimbledon Tennis 2023

Youngest sister on Tuesday this week, very kindly treated me to a seat in Wimbledon's Court Number 1 as well as a terrific lunch  beforehand at  Wingfield restaurant in the grounds.

The tennis was  excellent  and for the first time whilst I have been at Wimbledon Tennis over the years, the glass roof was required to cover the court during a rain outburst. Interesting the time taken for this was only about ten minutes though the players then needed a few more minutes to warm up again after the roof was in place, before play resumed.

The absence of any British players during this year's quarter finals meant that the crowd was slightly quieter than usual.

For the Ladies Quarter Finals, playing were Jessica Pegula v Maketa Vondrousova, which Maketa (Czech) won followed by the Men's between Jannik Sinner (Belgian)  and Roman Safiulin  which Sinner won.

Excellent full day, though given the lateness of the hour I decided not to watch the guest ladies doubles after Sinners' match so took the shuttle bus back to Wimbledon Station.
