For youngest sister's Christmas present, we decided to take her to The Black Lamb in Wimbledon Village, where they had an eight course menu concentrating on as local as possible, foods and drinks. We all attended there yesterday for a very enjoyable meal.
Unfortunately only a pdf version of the menu is published on the Black Lamb's website. My old laptop hardly uses pdf and my sister's helpful emailed version of the menu from her more modern mobile, was not ideal for a blogpost, so I have had to use the Google lens version below.
Despite the poor quality of the copy menu, the food and drink were delicious as offered. Additional drinks were of course shown separately on the restaurant menu.
We had a carafe of Sussex Reserve 2019 from the Nutbourne vineyards in Sussex, which proved to be a delicious white wine to accompany the meal.
Our sweet, was Spotted Dick Mincemeat Sponge and Burnt Butter Custard, the name reminding me somewhat of boarding school fare at long since closed Beaumont College, though the taste was delicious. To accompany the sweet we ventured over to France and had delicious glasses of Les Lions de Suduirut Sauternes 2018.
Walking back down Wimbledon Hill Road was just what was required after such an enjoyable meal.
The menus are shown in pdf on the Black Lamb's website but as signified above, my aged computer hardly uses pdf, so I have used google to secure the poorish non-pdf image above, of the menu.
