Youngest sister kindly treated nephews and nieces to Sunday lunch at the or should that be Le Pont de la Jour restaurant on Thameside some fifteen minutes walk from London Bridge tube station.
I found my sole and chip main course not brilliant. Perhaps I should have gone for the cod enjoyed by maytrees min, which looked delicious, though my onion and Normandy cheese starter was excellent as was the sweet of summer berries.
The main treat though was that of seeing our children, including Ed who came over from Jersey CI, nephew Oliver, whose parents were away in the USA and of course sister Steph, who was treating us all. Maytrees mi is still away in New Zealand.
Maytrees ma whose children in Guildford needed lunch, arrived later, just in time for a sweet. The Southwestern Railway system was almost closed for track works over the weekend, but maytrees ma managed to catch one of the few trains still running to Waterloo. We had to travel by bus and Northern Line but still arrived just in time.
The weather was sufficiently warm for dining outside, almost on the northern bank of The Thames and a great time was had by all.
As for pictures:
A great afternoon for which thanks to youngest sister (second from the left in the photo above).
