Oldest Son Edmund a Jersey CI resident, is to be married this Saturday to Gillian a Scots lady who also lives on Jersey.
Thus this weekend should be an exciting time for the family, as most siblings, grandchildren and spouses will be attending.
More about that perhaps in a later post. Meanwhile...
Last night in an EFL Cup football match AFC Wimbledon had perhaps their most exciting game since moving to their new SW19 ground in Plough Lane. They were playing Premier League Ipswich Town at home in the Carabo Cup which used to be called the EFL Cup. There were some 8,000 in attendance. The Dons were winning the match 2-1 until Ipswich scored in the dying minutes of the game. A penalty shoot out then took place. The Dons' manager made plain that there would be no hard feelings for any Dons player whose penalty shot missed or was saved.
In the event AFC Wimbledon then beat Ipswich Town 4-2 on penalties following two brillant saves by the Dons' goalkeeper Owen goodman.
The Dons next Carabo Cup match will be against Newcastle United, once more a Premier League club, again at home in Plough Lane.
