Jersey Channel Island

The sun shone as Edmund married Gillian on Jersey last week. Their wedding reception was excellent as was the dancing,

which even yours truly managed to join in. The party included  not only   brothers and sisters but also the whole family of Mrs maytrees and I together, including  Stuart and Johnny respectively the husbands of Alice and Catherine, as well as grand children Emma and Henry,  for the first time since the youngest were born.

Mrs maytrees and I took the opportunity after the wedding, of visiting some sites in Jersey that we had only fleetingly seen before, Thus

On the left above, is mrs maytrees at St Catharine's Bay and on the right is a ward at the Jersey underground hospital, which during WWII the occupying German army forced many to construct.

A lovely wedding and a brilliant stay for us all on the island.

We were lucky enough to be able, after returning to Southampton Airport on the  small turbo prop Blue Sky Airways plane, to walk to the nearby railway station and catch the train, which was just about to depart  for  Clapham Junction.
