Ructions in Ottawa

Listening to Times Radio at dawn this morning, the issues facing the residents of Ottawa and the reported failures by the police there to take any action to prevent them sounded truly dreadful. Comparing those Canadian issues with those in the UK about the apparent illegal tea parties  on the lawns of 10 Downing Street, brings into focus the apparent anti-Boris nature of the news in the UK at present.

In Ottawa apparently, hundreds of heavy lorry drivers are besieging not only their parliament building but also the citizens of that small capital city. The Canadian drivers or some of them at least, appear to be bullying people into taking off their Chinese 'flu masks.

One lady who declined to remove her mask was told that she would be raped by the bully if she did not do so. Upon her reporting that fact to the Canadian Police in Ottawa, their reply  according to Times News, was simply to the effect that she should remove her mask then.

Essentially the police are taking the view that no action is their best policy despite the fact that besieging by  the  lorry drivers or are they 'truck drivers' in Canada,  has already continued for over eight days.

One would have expected these atrocities to have been given prominence even in UK newspapers let alone the BBC. I am sure that they feature somewhere but our media regards eating cake in  parties at the office and at home by our Prime Minister as being so important that it must feature as the top or near to the top news item for weeks.

The problem as I understand it, is that in Canada as now in Austria, being vaccinated is compulsory so that those who refuse lose their jobs or in Austria are fined. This  was about to apply to the NHS and care homes in the UK. Thankfully that threat was cancelled recently though there is more of a case for compulsion where the lives of patients are concerned.

Overall though, the reported  situation in Canada  is dreadful. Presumably the so called Liberal politicians are hardly being liberal at all in that great country.
