The football World Cup continues to be fascinating to watch freely on TV at home despite the cost of tickets and FIFA control for those brave enough to travel to Mexico, USA and/or Canada.
Last night the penalty shoot out between Egypt and Australia was riveting as had been the match itself which finished after extra time at 1-1.
The Mexico v England match originally scheduled for 1am on Monday morning had been moved to 7pm on Saturday by FIFA, owing to severe thunderstorm warnings but upon the insistence of both teams, has been reinstated as a 1am Sunday morning match.
For England any pauses in play caused by lightning could be of assistance as breathing at over 7000 feet is not straightforward for Engand as for the home team, Pauses in play which occur during thunderstorms when there is lightning, could assist England recover whereas the Mexican team are already well acclimatised.
