A couple of weeks back younger brother, his wife, mrs maytrees and myself went for lunch to Pembroke Lodge in Richmond Park
Interestingly Pembroke Lodge is the venue where many wedding receptions take place and is one of the most popular wedding reception venues in the country.
Indeed I recall attending a wedding reception there years previously of a couple, who had married after they had accompanied HCPT Group 35 on a pilgrimage to Lourdes
The new husband Neil was a guitarist and I recall his playing the guitar during a Group 35 time out in an old town Lourdes cafe which was otherwise empty owing to the pouring rain. That day was when his guitar playing expertise caused me to select James Sit Down as one of my favourite pop songs.
A memorable aspect of their wedding reception was that of trying to find our car at midnight in pitch black Richmond Park when our old car did not have lights that lit up upon beeping with the car key.
The comparatively recent visit to Pembroke Lodge by us was very enjoyable with easy free car parking and a table by the window for our delicious and in expensive lunch together.
Being daylight finding the car afterwards was no problem.
