Funerals are always sad occasions but the Irish tradition of holding a wake afterwards in the Sacred Heart Parish lounge enabled many happy memories of mum to be shared with dad and mum's seven daughters and sons and many friends. One of the first times we have all been together for many years. May she rest in peace.

ReplyDeleteMy oldest friend at the funeral was also from Beaumont. Strange and lovely (if that is not too feminine a word) how supportive friends from that era and that school still are.
