Kew Gardens

Traveling over to Kew earlier this week to meet  John, an old, or given that we are about the same age, a not so old, friend from Beaumont College days, resulted in a very enjoyable day together.

John who as a slightly younger man features in The Wandering Soul  and earlier in this blog for example at: John
is a member of Kew Gardens so we spent two very interesting hours walking there albeit in the pouring rain as some of the following pictures illustrate:

After wandering through the almost deserted Gardens and having a coffee there, outside of course during the pandemic but under a large slightly dripping tree, we returned to John's house which is in Kew near to the Gardens.

John's youngest daughter who because of the pandemic, currently lives at home with him and works from her office there, joined us for lunch and a very enjoyable lunch it was too.

Almost amusingly whilst we were chatting over lunch, the weather slightly deteriorated so that we observed that the rain became rather heavier than it had been during our time in the Gardens.

After much reminiscing about school days and friends from that time, the rain having abated somewhat, I took my leave and upon walking to Richmond Station (despite kindly being offered a lift there) was fortunate enough within 60 seconds to catch the train to Raynes Park so an easy walk home.
